After a hosting fiasco, a solid day scrambling for tech support, and a long, painful rebuilding process, the RileSmith Arts blog is back online, albeit slimmed down, having irretrievably lost several years of posts, the most popular of which, according to analytics, was a breezy review of the John Baldessari “Pure Beauty” exhibit at the Met a couple of years ago. Also lost, temporarily, were all the RileSmith websites, including MadHotGlass, whose drawing portfolio included a couple pastel drawings of Mayan jaguar gods copied from pottery at the Cleveland Museum of Art– tens of thousands of copies of those were downloaded by folks all over the world, most of whom presumably, were working on middle school research papers. Sorry kids! We’ll re-upload those drawings, but it may take them a while to rise back up in the Google ratings.
But it was time to go, and now we have better hosting, even if we did lose all those posts. We feel so much lighter now, as if we’d cleaned out the attic.
Well done! The new site looks great.
